Amrit Kalash aids Breast Cancer Patients
An extensive medical research study has recently documented that Maharishi Amrit Kalash (MAK), an Ayurvedic herbal compound, is effective in controlling side effects during cancer chemotherapy. The findings are the result of a two year long study undertaken at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). 123 patients with breast cancer
undergoing chemotherapy were recruited. Of these half of the patients were randomized to receive MAK for a period of six months while
the other half of the patients were in the control group.
MAK significantly reduced loss of appetite, weight loss, vomiting, fever, pain, stomatitis and improved the functional status. The MAK group also had an improved outcome, although this was not one of the endpoints being measured in the study.
Although the antioxidant properties of MAK have been well demonstrated, the study showed that reduction of the side effects of chemotherapy can be reduced with this preparation without reducing the desired cytotoxic (cell killing) effects of the chemotherapy.
