Hypertension
A 45 year old executive had uncontrolled hypertension despite medications. He was obese and fatigued and therefore unable to exercise, and had uncontrollable appetite. He was prescribed herbs to reduce his craving for alcohol, cigarettes and rich foods. He attended Lancaster for a two week chronic disease program consisting of Takradhara and bastis (herbalized enemas) and extended practice of TM. As his weight dropped, he was able to exercise, and stopped both alcohol and tobacco. He now has normal blood pressure on herbs but no medications, and is still able to eat as much salt as he likes.
