Menopausal Syndrome
A fifty year old woman with severe, embarrassing hot flashes had a contraindication to estrogen replacement therapy. She and her husband both became extremely irritable because she would awaken frequently at night drenched in sweat and needed to change the sheets and bedclothes and then had difficulty falling asleep again. She was prescribed herbs from the Maharishi Veda Chronic Disease Program as well as a change in diet. She now still has an occasional hot flush, but gets a good night sleep without the need for hormones.
